XPEL PRIME & VISION

Automotive tint, safety film and architectural glass

PRIME CS and PRIME XR for vehicles, safety film for South African roads, and the VISION range for home and office glazing.

Automotive glass

PRIME, and the safety film underneath it

Tint and safety film are two different products doing two different jobs. Most South African cars want both, and they can be layered.

Automotive

XPEL PRIME CS

Colour-stable carbon film.

A carbon-based film that blocks 99% of UV and will not turn purple the way cheap dyed film does. Carbon films reject roughly forty percent of infrared — noticeably better than dyed, and short of ceramic.

Automotive

XPEL PRIME XR

Nano-ceramic, and the one worth paying for.

Nano-ceramic film that rejects heat in the infrared band rather than by being dark, so a road-legal shade still does most of the work. It contains no metal, so GPS, mobile signal, keyless entry and tyre-pressure sensors are unaffected.

Safety & Smash-and-Grab Film

100 microns of clear film holding the glass together.

A thick, clear, structural layer bonded to the inside of the glass. It does not make a window unbreakable and nobody should sell it that way — what it does is turn one quiet smash into several loud, slow attempts, which is usually enough.

Finish
Clear — can go under tint

South African regulations set minimum light transmission — broadly 70% for the windscreen and 35% for side and rear glass. We fit to the legal limit and will not fit past it. Try the simulator on the window tinting page to see what each shade actually looks like.

XPEL VISION

Home and office glazing

The same three problems as a car — heat, fade and glass safety — in a different frame. Quoted per square metre after a site measure.

Solar Control

Cuts heat load and glare on homes and offices, which takes load off the air conditioning and stops furniture and flooring fading.

Safety Film

Clear glass-retention film in 4 mil and 7 mil, filtering 99% of UV and holding a pane together when it breaks.

Security Film

Heavier grades at 8, 12 and 15 mil, specified where the job is deterring forced entry rather than containing an accident.

Anti-Graffiti

Clear sacrificial film at 4 and 6 mil, interior or exterior, taking the scratching, tagging and acid etching so the glass does not.

Exterior

Silver exterior film at 20% VLT, combining daytime privacy with solar heat rejection where interior film is impractical.

Decorative

White matte, whiteout and blackout finishes for privacy, branding and partitioning without replacing the glass.
